Two people were rushed to hospital after a fire that broke out at a home could be seen for miles.
Emergency services were called to Mather Road, in Oxton, shortly after 4pm to reports of the blaze at a terraced house.
Fire crews quickly entered the home to tackle the fire but were forced to come back outside over fears the house wasn't stable.
The people inside the house had managed to escape the fire before crews arrived and were assessed at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Road closures were quickly put in place at the scene with police officers supporting firefighters to keep people away from the home.
Pictures taken over in Liverpool showed how smoke from the fire was sent up into the sky.
A number of properties either side of the home have been evacuated while crews work at the scene to make sure the property is safe after the blaze.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue told the ECHO: "Fire crews were alerted to the fire on Mather Road in Oxton at 4.22pm.
"We were on scene at 4.30pm and found the property well alight.
"All the occupants of the house had come out of the home and were assessed by paramedics before two people were taken to hospital.

"Properties either side of the home were evacuated as a precaution and until as assessment can be carried out to determine whether the structure of the property is safe."
Travel site INRIX also said: "Mather Road in both directions closed due to police incident from Euston Grove to Palm Grove.
"Traffic is coping well."
A police forensic van is also at the scene along with a Cadent gas engineer.
