Two rushed to hospital after early morning car crash on Dublin road

Two people were rushed to hospital following an early morning car crash in south Dublin.

The incident happened in Rathmines at 5.15 am on Wednesday morning.

The drivers were taken to St James's Hospital after the cars collided on Grove Road in the early morning crash.

Dublin Fire Brigade crew attended the scene with an emergency tender which is a specialist rescue truck that carries extra equipment for collisions.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred in Rathmines, Dublin 6 yesterday morning, 1st September 2021 at approximately 5.15 am.

"Two vehicles collided on Grove Road. The drivers of both cars were taken to St. James’ Hospital.

"Investigations are ongoing."
