Two people had to be rescued after a campervan was swamped by water on the Holy Island causeway.
The incident took place at around 3pm on Saturday when emergency services were alerted.
Seahouses RNLI Inshore Lifeboat, who were on a training exercise at the Farne Islands, were asked to attend the scene.
On arrival, they found a horsebox-type campervan partially submerged. Two occupants, who were foreign nationals and spoke very little English, had managed to reach the refuge box after abandoning their vehicle.
They were rescued and landed safely on the mainland side, where they were handed into the care of local coastguard officers. Coastguard units from Seahouses and Holy island had also been on alert.
The rescuers have now reiterated their warning about checking tide times before crossing the causeway.
The safe crossing times on Saturday were from 8.20am to 1.50pm, and it was unsafe to cross again until 8.50pm. High tide was at 4.20pm.
Ian Clayton, Seahouses Lifeboat operations manager, said: "We suspect that language problems may have contributed to this incident.
"Fortunately, both vehicle occupants were safely brought ashore and neither required medical assistance."
