Two public schools in Queanbeyan will be closed on Friday to allow for contact tracing and cleaning, after COVID-19 exposures.
Queanbeyan South Public School and Queanbeyan West Public School both advised parents of the exposure and asked all staff and students to isolate while they await further information.
"There is no requirement to get a COVID-19 test at this time unless you are unwell," the schools wrote to parents and staff.
"While we recognise this will be disruptive and inconvenient for families, it is important that we follow NSW Health advice and take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of further transmission to support our community."
Both schools will offer online resources for students during the closure.
All students in NSW schools have now returned to face-to-face learning, while ACT schools will see remaining year groups return on Monday.
On Thursday afternoon, Ainslie School parents were notified that a confirmed case visited the school campus on Monday October 25 from 9am to 3pm and Tuesday October 26 from 9am to 12.05pm.
Anyone who attended the site at the exposure times was asked to stay home until they get further advice on Friday, as authorities undertake a risk assessment and contact tracing.
