Two police officers taken to hospital after Kirkintilloch incident as man, 28, and boy, 14, arrested

Two police officers were rushed to hospital following an incident in Kirkintilloch late last night.

A 28-year-old man and 14-year-old boy have been arrested and charged following the incident with a property at Townhead at around 10.50pm yesterday (July 10).

The 28-year-old will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday from custody. The 14-year-old has been released on an undertaking and will also appear in court on Monday.

Police Scotland have confirmed that the two officers were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and have since been releaed.

Chief Inspector Lorna Gibson said: "A report was received of a disturbance within a property at Townhead in Kirkintilloch shortly after 10.50pm on Friday, 10 July.

"Two males - aged 28 and 14 - have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Reports will be submitted to the relevant authorities. 

"The 28-year-old will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 13 July from custody. The 14-year-old has been released on an undertaking, also to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

"Two male police officers were injured during the incident and were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Both have subsequently been released following treatment."
