Two police officers in Kirkintilloch injured during large-scale disturbance

A man and a teenager have been arrested and two police officers injured after a disturbance in Kirkintilloch last night.

Police were called to a property in Townhead in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow just after 10.50pm.

Footage from the scene shows multiple police cars in attendance and ambulance sirens can be heard.

Two male police officers were subsequently rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Chief Inspector Lorna Gibson said: "A report was received of a disturbance within a property at Townhead in Kirkintilloch shortly after 10.50pm on Friday, 10 July.

"Two males - aged 28 and 14 - have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Reports will be submitted to the relevant authorities.

"The 28-year-old will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 13 July from custody. The 14-year-old has been released on an undertaking, also to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

"Two male police officers were injured during the incident and were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Both have subsequently been released following treatment."
