Two police officers are in hospital after being attacked during an arrest near millionaires row in North London.

The policeman and woman were responding to reports of a man indecently exposing himself on Deansway, East Finchley at 7pm on Friday.

The pair identified the suspect who fled down the leafy, residential road where homes fetch on average £2,100,000.

After what police described as a short foot chase they caught and tackled the suspect close to Bishop’s Avenue.

But a Met spokesman said during the arrest the officers suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Both were taken to hospital.

The man, who was also arrested on suspicion of two assaults on emergency workers, has been taken into custody.
