Two players absent as Chelsea squad for Champions League clash with Porto is confirmed

Chelsea have confirmed the 23-man squad that has travelled to Seville for tomorrow night's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Porto.

The Blues go into the game in a strong position having clinched a 2-0 victory in the away leg of the tie – which was also played at Sevilla' Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium – last weekend.

Mason Mount fired Chelsea ahead with a wonderfully taken goal and a late strike from Ben Chilwell put Thomas Tuchel's side firmly in control of the tie.

The Blues are strong favourites to progress to the last four tomorrow evening, where they will either face Real Madrid or Liverpool. Yet Tuchel stressed after last week's game that the tie was far from over.

He said: "It's only half time [of the tie] and we experienced what can happen in football last Saturday. I feel a good atmosphere in the dressing room. We are happy but not too happy, excited but not too excited.

"We made a few good attacks and got two good goals today. It was hard for us to create touches in the box, find the right rhythm for a long time.

"Overall we escaped with a very, very good result. But it's the quarter-finals and we have to keep on going, it will be necessary for another top performance and top mentality next Tuesday."

Chelsea, who completed an impressive 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday, can reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2014 if they can overcome Porto.

And it's little surprise that Tuchel has taken his most experienced players to the south of Spain.

Two members of the first-team squad haven't travelled, however. They are Billy Gilmour, who has played just three times since Tuchel's arrival at the end of January, and Tino Anjorin, whose only appearance under the German coach came against Barnsley in the FA Cup fifth round.

Full Chelsea squad vs Porto: Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero, Reece James, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Marcos Alonso, Ben Chilwell, Emerson, Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud, Timo Werner
