Will Mellor has revealed his dad Bill has died in an emotional video.
The Two Pints Of Lager star told how he was going through the "hardest time" following the death of his dad in a video he shared on Twitter.
Will asked fans "what do you do when you lose your hero?".
He did not reveal how his dad died in the clip, which he captioned ‘worst week of my life’, but added in a separate post that it wasn't as a result of the coronavirus.
He said: "It’s just the hardest time. It’s horrendous. What do you do when you lose your hero?
"I also know there are a lot of people who are going through this out there. I just want you to know I feel your pain. We’ve just got to try and stick together and get through it.
"Try and remember the good times. If you think about my dad, remember the good times.
"That’s what I’m going to do, and we’ll get through this. That’s it.’
Many of Will's celebrity friends rushed to console him.
Susanna Reid wrote: "So so sorry Will. Love to you and your family."
Dan Walker said: "Dear me. So sorry Will. Horrible news."
Emily Atack commented: "Oh my god Will. Sending all the love in the world to you. I’m so so sorry."
Will told of dad’s illness at the beginning of the month, explaining he had been rushed to hospital at the end of March.
He explained how he found it hard having to stay away from his mum and sisters when his dad was ill.
He said: "My instincts were just to get in the car and go, and you realise you can’t.
"I can’t be there for my mum, can’t go and see my sisters… It’s just brought it all home, what situation we’re in.
