Two Phoebes, Rachel's double and all the other Friends bloopers spotted by fans

It's hard to believe it's been an entire 27 years since Ross, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, Monica and Rachel all stepped on our screens in the very first episode of Friends.

Over the last two-and-a-half decades, many of us have watched the iconic sit-com over and over, so much so that we know the script better than we know our own lives.

But, as all Friends fans will know, it doesn't matter how many times you watch an episode, with every re-run, you start to notice things about the show that you'd never seen before.

Considering the show is easily up there with one of the most popular sit-coms of all time, it can be quite surprising to learn just how many many bloopers and editing errors actually made their way onto air.

In fact, the internet is filled with examples of blatantly obvious mistakes that so many of us turned a blind eye to for so many years.

Does it make us love the show any less? Absolutely not, but does it make us feel stupid for not noticing the mistakes earlier? Erm, yes.

One of the earliest editing errors dates back to the very first episode, The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate, in which Phoebe can be seen reacting to her own line - suddenly transported from the kitchen to the living room couch. Now, we know she has a twin, but it's highly unlikely that Ursula was also hanging out at Monica's apartment.

"Oh I just pulled out four eyelashes, that can’t be good," she said, before the camera panned round to the couch, where Phoebe appeared to be drinking a cup of coffee.

Later on, in the second season during The One Where Ross Finds Out episode, another continuity error sees Rachel's necklace just disappear from thin air while she's working in Central Perk.

The missing piece of jewellery vanishes just when she finds out Ross is going to get a cat with Julie - so you can understand why none of us seemed to notice it before.

Moving on to The One In Massapequa in season eight, the episode is littered with errors, all centring around Monica and Ross' parents, Jack and Judy Geller.

The couple are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary, however if you take a closer look at the photos of them around the venue, you can see they're wearing the exact same outfits as they're wearing to the party itself. You'd have thought they'd own more than one outfit.

Then, in the very same episode, while Ross and Rachel tell tales of their fake wedding ceremony, a strange man pretending to be Jack Geller can be seen standing behind Rachel.

This is because in the shot made for TV, the show was filmed in 4:3, which was standard for the time. However, when the series moved to Netflix, it can be seen in the wider screen of 16:9, which has revealed lots of hidden mistakes not spotted in the past.

Meanwhile, the exact same thing can be seen happening to Rachel, when she's in Monica and Chandler's kitchen talking to Joey about his audition with Jeff Goldblum's character, in The One With the Mugging.

And, as all Friends fans already know, that's just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to editing errors and bloopers throughout the 10 seasons.

But, one thing is for sure, 27 years on, Friends remains just as iconic as it always was.
