A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At around 1.10pm on Tuesday 15 June, we were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Eccles Old Road, Salford.

“Two fire engines from Salford and Agecroft fire stations were quickly at the scene, joined by the Technical Response Unit from Leigh.

“Firefighters administered trauma care to one person before handing over to colleagues from North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police.”

A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service confirmed that an advanced paramedic and a response vehicle were on the scene.

Two patients were treated on scene and nobody was required to go to hospital.

The incident led to series of delays in the area, after the A576 became partially blocked.

At 3.42pm, traffic sensor INRIX reported that traffic was coping well after the incident had cleared.
