Two people trapped in car in Stapleton following Frenchay Park Road crash

Two people were treated by paramedics after a car flipped onto its side during a crash in Stapleton.

Emergency services were called to the smash on Frenchay Park Road near to the junction with Stoke Lane at 7:18pm tonight (Monday, Feb 3).

Avon and Somerset ConstabularyAvon Fire and Rescue and  South Western Ambulance Service all attended the collision but luckily no one was seriously injuried.

A video taken by a witness  at the scene shows the car on its side. One of the cars also appears to have an 'L' plate but it is not known if it was being driven by a learner driver.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 7:18pm. One crew from Avonmouth and two from Temple were mobilised to the RTC involving two vehicles on Frenchay Park Road, Stapleton.

"On arrival, they found two casualties medically trapped in their vehicle who were receiving treatment from paramedics.

"Crews worked the casualties to safety. Another casualty had already self-freed themselves from their vehicle.

"Police and ambulance were in attendance."

A witness at the scene told Bristol Live: "Major crash at bottom of Stoke Lane (near UWE Frenchay).

"Two ambulances,  three fire engines and multiple police."
