Two people will face ACT Magistrates Court over back-to-back drink driving offences in the same vehicle.
Police witnessed the first driver, a 25-year old Kambah woman, reversing her Holden Barina at the intersection of Gundaroo Drive and Gungahlin Drive at 11.04pm on Friday night.
ACT Policing officers found the driver, who was on her P-plates, had a blood alcohol reading of 0.085.
Officers told the passenger, a 29-year-old Bonner man, to not drive the car because they believed he had been drinking.
At 11.50pm, police witnessed the same Holden Barina hitting the kerb at Bruning Street, Gungahlin.
The 29-year-old man was found driving the car and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.199, over three times the legal limit of 0.05.
Both drivers had their license suspended immediately.
The woman will face ACT Magistrates Court for drink driving on May 3 this year.
The man will face court on March 22 for drink driving and resisting a territory official.
ACT Policing officer in charge at Gungahlin Station, Inspector Rachel Hutka, said the incident was a reminder for Canberrans to take alternative transport home if they planned on drinking.
"Just because you've swiped right early in the evening, it doesn't mean you'll be right to drive later on," Inspector Hutka said.
"There are many ways to get home safely, including taxis, ride-share services, or someone in your group staying sober.
"We have arranged dates in court for both of these people."
