Two people taken to hospital after early morning crash in Blyth

Two people have been taken to the hospital after an early morning collision.

Emergency services were called to Laverock Hall Road, in Blyth, in Northumberland, to a report of a three-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning.

Northumbria Police and paramedics arrived at the scene at around 8am.

It was reported that the collision partially blocked both sides of the road.

After assessing those involved, the ambulance service transported two people to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington.

Emergency services were still at the scene of the collision at around 9.30am.

A spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.05am to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on Laverock Hall Road, Blyth.

"We dispatched two double crew ambulances and transported two patients to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital."
