Two people were taken to hospital this morning after a crash between two cars on Muirhead Avenue East.
The victims were injured after a collision between a Mercedes and a Volkswagen near the central reservation at the junction of Lewisham Road.
Emergency services attended the scene earlier today.
The driver of the Mercedes was checked by paramedics but she did not require hospital treatment.
The two occupants of the VW were taken to hospital as a precaution.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We had a call at 10.45am to reports of a road traffic collision between a Mercedes and a VW on Lewisham Road.
“The two occupants of the second car have been taken to hospital as a precaution. The female driver of the Mercedes was checked by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.”
A witness at the scene posted on social media: “It looked pretty serious with three police cars and a police van in attendance.
“Both cars were blocking the road but hopefully everyone involved is okay.”
