Two people have been taken to hospital after a collision on a busy road through Oldham.
Photographs taken at the scene show a damaged motorbike and what appears to be a private hire vehicle behind a police cordon on Ashton Road, in Fitton Hill, this afternoon (August 24).
The motorcyclist was rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary with a serious leg injury, the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said.
The driver of the car was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital with a back injury.
Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A NWAS spokesperson said paramedics were called to Ashton Road in the Fitton Hill area of Oldham just before 1pm on Monday afternoon (August 24).
“We were called to a collision between a motorbike and a car.
“Two patients, one in their 20s and one in their 40s, were taken to hospital.
“The rider of the motorbike suffered a serious leg injury. The driver of the car also suffered injuries.”
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1pm on Monday 24 August 2020, police were called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a purple Yamaha motorcycle and a silver Toyota vehicle on the A627.
"Emergency services attended and two people have been taken to hospital."
