Two people suffer life changing injuries in head-on crash on busy Barry road

Two people have what has been described as "life changing" injuries in a crash involving three cars in Barry.

South Wales Police said there was a head-on collision between a black Audi and a Ford Focus, and a Vauxhall Astra was also involved.

Officers were called to the A4226 between Barry and Cardiff Airport, also known as Port Road West, at around 9.15am on Monday (April 12).

The drivers of the Audi and Ford Focus suffered serious injuries and are being treated at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

The driver of the vehicle escaped without injury.

The road was closed for more then six hours as police carried out investigations at the scene.

Anybody who may have witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved, is urged to contact South Wales Police via 101 and give reference *125924.
