Two people struck by trains in under an hour - ScotRail

Two people were struck by trains in less than an hour on Thursday night (January 6), ScotRail has announced.

The separate incidents caused cancellations to trains running between Glasgow Queen Street and Croy, and Kilmarnock and Ayr.

The Kilmarnock incident was announced at around 7:40pm, with the Croy one some 20 minutes later.

Normal service resumed on the lines at 9:45pm and 10pm respectively.

Once they had reopened, ScotRail said: "We know not everyone feels comfortable claiming compensation for a delay in circumstances like tonight's - but please do, you are entitled to it.

"If you would prefer, you can donate the money directly to @MNDScotland."

British Transport Police have been contacted for a comment.
