Two people rushed to hospital after three-vehicle crash in Dumfries and Galloway

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a crash on the M74.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene of a three vehicles crash in the Eaglesfield area of Dumfries and Galloway.

This incident happened at J20 norrthbound on the motorway around 10am this morning.

Officers confirm that two people were rushed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Investigations are still being carried out into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10am on Monday, 6 September, 2021, police were called to a three vehicle road crash on the M74, J20 Northbound at Eaglesfield, Dumfries and Galloway.

"Two people, from separate cars, have been taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. No details on injury if any.

"Enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing."
