Two people rushed to hospital after serious crash in Mayo

Two people have been taken to hospital after a serious road traffic collision in Co. Mayo on Tuesday.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle crash on the N5 at around 9.10am.

The two people involved in the accident were conveyed to Mayo University Hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The road involved was closed for a period but has since reopened.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a two-vehicle traffic collision that occurred on the N5 in Co Mayo at approximately 9:10am this morning, Tuesday, 10 May 2022.

“Two persons were conveyed to Mayo University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of this collision.

“The road involved was closed for a period following this collision and is now reopened for use.”
