The collision, involving two cars, happened at around 11.15am between the villages of Pentregat and Synod Inn

A section of the A487 - the main road between Cardigan and Aberystwyth - was closed for more than two hours.

Emergency services have been in attendance at the scene, including the Wales Air Ambulance and fire crews.

A spokesman for the Wales Air Ambulance said: “We attended the scene of a road traffic collision near Synod Inn. The charity’s Dafen-based aircraft was tasked to the scene arriving at 12:21pm.

“Following triage and treatment from the Welsh Flying Medics the injured were conveyed to hospital by road ambulance. Our involvement concluded at 1.30pm.”

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that fire crews from New Quay and Aberaeron arrived at the scene of the crash shortly after 11.25am.

The road was reopened by police at around 2.15pm.

The injuries suffered in the crash are not thought to be life-threatening.
