Two people rushed to hospital after horror four-car smash on M8

One person has been rushed to hospital this afternoon, after a four-car collision on the M8 near Glasgow airport.

Emergency services raced to the scene around 3.40pm and the road was blocked as a result.

Police confirmed that four cars were involved in the smash and one person was taken to hospital for treatment.

The road has no reopened.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: Officers were called to the M8 eastbound near to junction 29 at around 3.35pm on Thursday, 6 May, following a multi-vehicle crash.

"At least four vehicles are believed to have been involved. One person was taken to hospital. Recovery has been arranged for vehicles not able to be driven from the scene. The road re-opened by 4.30pm."
