Two people rushed to hospital after chemical spill in Glasgow

Two people were rushed to hospital after a chemical spillage in Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to the scene at an industrial estate in Fullarton Drive around 6.25pm on Friday February 19.

A 51-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were then taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The man required medical treatment while the woman was hospitalised as a precaution.

Officers launched an investigation into the incident but ruled 'there was no criminality'.

They advised that there was no wider risk to the public and sent a report to the Health and Safety Executive.

A spokesman for the force said: "Around 6.25pm on Friday, 19 February, emergency services were called to the Fullarton Drive area of Glasgow following a report of a chemical spillage.

"A 51-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, whilst a 44-year-old woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"There was no criminality established or risk to the wider public.

'A report will be submitted to the Health and Safety Executive."
