Two people rushed to hospital after car flips onto roof in Glasgow crash

Two people were rushed to hospital after a serious crash saw a car flip on its roof in Glasgow.

Mercy crews raced on Newlands Road in the south side of the city at around 2:45pm yesterday after calls from members of the public.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision which left one car flipped on it's roof.

Cops locked down the quiet street in the chaos.

Five people needed medical attention on the scene while two patients were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The street was sealed off as police arrived on the scene (Glasgow Live)

The extent of their injuries is unknown.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 14:34 following reports of an RTC on Newlands Road, Glasgow.

"Two A&E ambulances were dispatched, along with our Special Operations Team (SORT).

"Five patients were assessed on scene with two patients being taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
