Two people have been rushed to hospital following a car crash this morning.
The A71 between Galston and Newmilns was closed for more than three-and-a-half hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Police were first alerted to the two-car smash at 9.40am near Galston.
A man and a woman were then taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment following the crash, although the extent of any injuries they sustained has not been disclosed.
Cops have confirmed that the road reopened at 12.15pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were made aware of a crash involving two cars near Galston around 9.40am on Saturday, August 7.
"A man and a woman were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and the road was fully reopened around 12.15pm."
