Nov. 12--Two people were injured Wednesday after they were shot in unrelated incidents and a separate shooting resulted in bullets hitting a South Side elementary school, police said.
At about 10:53 a.m. police were called to the 6400 block of South Kedvale for a shots fired call, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.
When they arrived witnesses said someone from inside a small gray sedan was firing at people inside a tan sedan, said Sweeney.
No one was reportedly shot but during the call police learned that two bullets had struck the exterior of a school building on the 6400 block of South Tripp, said Sweeney.
The R. H. Lee Elementary School is located at 6448 S. Tripp Ave. No students were injured, police said.
In addition to that shooting, a 30-year-old man was shot on the 1200 block of South Albany Avenue at 10:25 a.m., police said. The man sustained a graze wound to his back and was treated at the scene, Sweeney said.
At 11:34 a.m. a male was shot on the 8800 block of South Halsted Street, said Sweeney. The victim, whose age was not immediately available, manage to get himself to the 103rd block of South Halsted Street. The victim managed to alert police and paramedics responded, police said.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition had stabilized, Sweeney said.
