Two people have died in the Bristol region with Covid-19, as the Omicron variant continues to spread in the United Kingdom.
The latest daily figures from the official government website show two people have died within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test the Bristol area - one in Bristol and another in South Gloucestershire.
It brings the total number of deaths in the region to 1,346, with 591 of these happening in Bristol.

There have been 396 deaths in South Gloucestershire, and 359 in North Somerset.
It comes as the first case of the Omicron variant was reported in Bristol this week.
And the total number of cases continues to rise in the Bristol area, with a total increase of 723 positive cases.

This includes 331 cases in Bristol, 247 in South Gloucestershire and 145 in North Somerset.
Meanwhile, in the entire United Kingdom, 54,073 new cases of the virus were reported, bringing the total since the pandemic began to 10,771,444.
The nation also reported 132 new deaths in the latest daily update, bringing the total to 146,387 fatalities.

The UK is continuing its vaccine programme, and 46,705,196 people have received two doses of a Covid-19 jab.
And 22,594,743 people have now received a booster jab.
