A man and a woman have been charged with drug offences following a police investigation in Queanbeyan.

NSW police said officers stopped a white Holden Commodore on Cameron Road, Queanbeyan, about 5pm on Thursday as part of a two-month investigation. Police said they seized methylamphetamine and cash from the car.

During a further search at a home in Queanbeyan, they said they found methylamphetamine, cannabis, GHB, fireworks and a rifle.

The car driver, a 60-year-old man, was charged with supply of a prohibited drug and possession of prohibited drugs. His application for bail was denied, and he was expected to face Queanbeyan local court on Friday.

The passenger, a 30-year-old woman, was charged with possession of prohibited drugs. She was granted conditional bail and was expected to appear at Queanbeyan local court on July 17.

Police said the arrests were part of a larger investigation into prohibited drugs.

In March 2020, the Southern Region Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Bozos to investigate drug supply crimes in the Queanbeyan area.

Anyone with further information that may assist Strike Force Bozos is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
