Two people assessed by paramedics after Pontins Brean Sands park was evacuated

Two people have been assessed by paramedics after Pontins Brean Sands park was evacuated.

Police, fire and ambulance crews descended on the venue around 7:50pm today (Tuesday).

Scores of holidaymakers were forced to wait on the roadside while the entire park was closed down.

A spokeswoman for South Western Ambulance Service said paramedics attempted to treat two people at the scene.

One person refused help, while the other is currently being assessed by crews.

“It could be too early to say but it doesn’t look like they’ll be needing hospital treatment,” said the spokeswoman.

“We sent our HART team, an officer, an ambulance and a rapid response team.”

Customers re-entered the venue around 8:45pm.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said crews were stood down around 9pm.

Police did not reveal the nature of the incident.
