Two people arrested in connection with McDonald’s ‘gang fight’ that left man with serious injuries in Elgin

Police have charged two people in connection with an assault that left a young man with serious injuries on his leg and body.

An investigation was launched after an alleged altercation took place between two separate groups in Trinity Place, Elgin, on Friday, December 4.

A 20-year-old man was treated at Dr Gray’s Hospital for his injuries which officers believe were caused by a weapon.

Police appealed for anyone who may have seen a grey Audi A3 car and a silver Mercedes in the area around the time of the disturbance to get in touch.

They said the groups were understood to have been at the McDonald’s in Linkwood Place before the incident.

Police Scotland have now confirmed they have charged a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman in connection with the serious assault.

A force spokesperson added: “A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. Expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court at a later date.”
