Two people have been arrested after an apparent stabbing in broad daylight along the quays in Dublin city centre.
The two people, a man in his early 40s and a woman in his late 30s, were arrested by Gardai on Dame Street after the alleged victim was assaulted at Wellington Quay.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was jumped at around 4:30pm and sustained a number of wounds.
He was immediately rushed to St James' Hospital but his injuries thankfully are not life threatening.
Gardai told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an assault on a man that occurred at approximately 4:25pm on Saturday, 11th July 2020, at Wellington Quay, Dublin 2
"The man, aged in his 40s, sustained a number of apparent stab wounds during the assault and was taken to St James Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
"A man and a woman, aged in their early 40s and late 30s respectively, were arrested by Gardaí on Dame Street a short time later in connection with this assault and are currently being detained at Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984
"Investigations are ongoing."
