Two people have been arrested after a large quantity of prescription medication were found during a police search in Bolton.
Officers from GMP’s Bolton West Neighbourhood team executed a warrant at an address on The Pewfist in Westhoughton on Friday.
Inside the premises, officers discovered a large quantity of prescription medication which was suspected to have been obtained illegally without a prescription.
Officers believe the medication was intended to be sold off to others.
Following the search, two people were arrested on possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Both were interviewed and later released under investigation.
Police say they have not yet been able to establish what the medication is and will be conducting tests to find out.
A GMP spokesperson said: “We now begin the painstaking (no pun intended) work of finding out exactly what the medication is.
“Whilst the box may say one thing, the origins of these medications are not known.
“They could be counterfeit or completely fake and as such we cannot be sure what is in any of them.”
