Two people arrested after armed police called to 'disturbance' at Edinburgh flat

Two people have been arrested after armed police were called to a block of flats in Edinburgh.

Emergency services raced to the scene in Muirhouse shortly after 5pm on Sunday, following reports of a disturbance within a property.

Local residents reported seeing a heavy police presence at the Inchmickery Court flats with specialist firearms officers drafted in.

Images of the unfolding incident were posted on the community Facebook group TRIM and Friends of West Pilton.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that two people have now been arrested.

A spokesperson said: “Around 5.15pm on Sunday, 12 April, we received reports of a disturbance on Muirhouse Grove, Edinburgh.

“A 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident."
