Two of Edinburgh's top Oriental restaurants are in the running to be crowned Scotland's best

Two of Edinburgh's top Oriental restaurants are in the running to be crowned the best in Scotland.

Harajuku Kitchen on Gillespie Place and The Chinese Manor House on Glasgow Road have both been nominated as finalists for The Golden Chopsticks Best Restaurant in Scotland.

Only four eateries make the final shortlist highlighting the impressive achievement of both.

And they are looking to follow in the footsteps of Edinburgh's Chaophraya which took home the much-coveted title last year.

Harajuku Kitchen say they pride themselves in adhering to the fundamentals of Japanese cooking – respecting the ingredients and their natural flavours.

They serve up a whole host of mouthwatering meals – from Tempuras and noodle soups to exciting chicken and fish dishes.

This Edinburgh restaurant has been voted the best kebab house in Scotland

The Chinese Manor House have been serving up some of the city's best Oriental food for the last 17 years – and have built up a huge batch of loyal customers through word of mouth.

They are known for doing the popular dishes extremely well, but are also renowned for their specialities – Hong Kong lime duck, salt and chilli haggis and molten chocolate toffee banana.

Cosmo and Wagamama, who both have restaurants in Edinburgh, are in the running to win the Best Restaurant Chain category.

All finalists will be invited to a special ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel on 29 April where the winners will be revealed.

TV personality and awards co-founder Gok Wan said: "After last year's huge success of our first ever Golden Chopsticks Awards, we're going bigger and better in 2019.

"The food industry has been crying out for a celebration of Oriental food in the UK. This year's awards are already the talk of the Oriental food scene."
