Notts County's Connell Rawlinson and Ben Turner are among the best five centre-backs in the National League, according to stats compiled by InstatFootball.
Each defender had to play a minimum of 1,000 minutes to be eligible as Instat studied their performances across the season so far.
Rawlinson has had an excellent campaign in the heart of the Magpies' defence and has played an integral role in the club's rise to third in the National League table.
He is a serious contender for the club's player of the season having impressed since his arrival from Port Vale on a free transfer last August.
As well as keeping teams out at one end, he has also bagged some crucial goals having scored and set-up a goal for Kyle Wootton in the club's memorable 2-1 win over Yeovil in the FA Trophy in February.
He also scored in a 2-1 win over Bromley in the league.
Notts currently have the second best defensive record in the division having conceded just 38 goals, and Turner has also contributed to the cause in the 24 games he has played despite having been injured since December.
He was instrumental in October as the club strung together a seven-game unbeaten run which saw him keep three clean sheets in the process.
The former Mansfield and Cardiff defender has also scored twice this season scoring in a 2-2 draw at Ebbsfleet in the league and against the same team in the FA Cup.
But his progress has been halted by a hamstring problem and as he stepped up his recovery he then suffered a calf injury.
It is hoped that he will be able to return to play a part in Notts' promotion bid once the season resumes after it was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As well as Turner and Rawlinson, Bromley's Chris Bush, Barnet's Daniel Sweeney and Yeovil's Luke Wiilkinson completed the list of InStat's best five centre-backs in the National League.
