Two Night Stand review – back to the drumkit, Miles

Two Night Stand Analeigh Tipton and Miles Teller

This is a medium-concept romcom, rush-released to capitalise on Miles Teller’s post-Whiplash visibility. Teller and Analeigh Tipton (from Damsels in Distress) at least bring mild freshness to this tale of a mismatched online hookup that is extended by freak snowstorms; in some infernal variation, we’d be trapped overnight with Gerard Butler and Kate Hudson. Until the overcompensating finale, however, there’s scant internal tension – one minute they loathe one another, the next it’s all ping-pong and fairylights – and the pseudo-frank sex talk repeatedly hits the same one note. Two Night Stand is a notch below popping to Nando’s on the list of things to do with a significant other this Valentine’s.
