Two night buses which run between Edinburgh and West Lothian to be scrapped this month

Two night buses which run between Edinburgh and West Lothian are set to be scrapped in the coming weeks.

First Scotland East say that services N23 and N25 will no longer operate as of 27 January, due to "low usage".

More than a dozen bus services will see alterations and changes before the month is out. First say that this follows "feedback from customers and key local stakeholders, coupled with the thoughts of our local driving team and extensive analysis of passenger journeys".

N25 serves Deans via Corstorphine, Newbridge, Kirkliston, Winchburgh, Broxburn, Uphall, Livingston Centre and Alderstone Road.

And N25 goes to Bathgate via Sighthill, Kirknewton, Mid Calder, East Calder, Livingston Centre and Eliburn.

Other changes will see a revised timetable on service 21, a new X22 bus replacing service 22 allowing for new links to Hermiston Park and Ride and increased frequency in Shotts, and new early morning journeys into Edinburgh using the X23 bus.

There will also be alterations to 24 and 25 (X24,X25) and a revised timetable on 26, 26A. Service 27 will bring a new run for Ladywell West and service 600 will see a revised timetable.

Service 701 will be replaced by the X22 and bus 38 will become X38 with a revised timetable.
