Two new deaths recorded from coronavirus and 974 cases confirmed in Scotland

There have been two new deaths from coronavirus reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours with 974 new cases confirmed.

The Scottish Government announced the latest figures this afternoon.

It was also revealed there are 137 people being treated in hospital for the virus with 17 in ICU.

The total number of coronavirus deaths sits at 7,683 since the start of the pandemic.

A total of 3,531,461 people have now had their first coronavirus of the vaccine while 2,470,181 have been double-dosed.

The news comes as Boris Johnson yesterday confirmed the delay of easing lockdown restrictions in England.

The First Minister made further announcements of the easing of restrictions in mainland Scotland this afternoon.
