Newcastle is set to get two new additions to its nightlife as well as a new restaurant to replace Fat Buddha.
The Asian restaurant - which went into administration at the beginning of the month along with its sister bar Antler - is now being replaced by a new Indian restaurant called the Purple Peacock.
Alpine-themed Antler will also undergo a renovation and be converted into a sports bar.
Purple Peacock is set to open in October as an Indian restaurant, selling both Asian-fusion food along with a number of vegetarian and vegan options.

Its theme has been inspired by Sonali Craddock, marketing director at the restaurant's developer High Street Group, who lived in India for almost a decade.
She said: “The décor is unique, extravagant and bold, with a royal jewel colour palate and themed accessories to complement the restaurants colourful name. There will be a giant peacock, lots of feathers and bird cage features.
“We believe that visitors to the restaurant will be compelled to take photos and share these across social media. The food will be contemporary with an element of Asian/classic fusion and we plan a strong emphasis on vegan and vegetarian cuisine.”
This will be the second Purple Peacock to open in the North East, after the High Street Group opened one of the restaurants at the Parkmore Hotel, in Eaglescliffe, on Teesside.
But Newcastle is also set to receive another new venue after the developer confirmed plans for a champagne bar to be opened in the city's tallest building.
Luxury champaign house Laurent Perrier has partnered with Hadrian's Tower to run the building's sky lounge once construction is complete. The bar will be known as Three 60 and Laurent is working up the designs for the venue along with the developer.
