Two New Arrests Made In Kansas City Parade Shooting

Two suspects charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Authorities have announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with the tragic shooting incident that occurred during the Kansas City Super Bowl parade last week. According to prosecutors, the two men, aged 18 and 22, have been charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

The altercation reportedly began when the suspects got into a fight with at least one other person following the conclusion of the parade celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs' victory. The situation escalated when the suspects brandished firearms and opened fire, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to 22 others.

The 18-year-old, identified as Dominic M. Miller, is alleged to have fired the shot that fatally struck Leap Lisa Lopez Gavon. Both Miller and his accomplice, 22-year-old Lyndall Mays, are currently being held on a million-dollar bail as they await further legal proceedings.

Authorities have indicated that additional individuals may face charges in connection with the shooting incident. The prosecutor emphasized the commitment to holding all responsible parties accountable for their actions on that fateful day, stressing the importance of seeking justice for the victims.

Of the 23 individuals who were shot during the incident, half were minors under the age of 16. Last week, two juveniles were charged in juvenile court on gun-related offenses, with the possibility of being tried as adults in the future.

While the exact number of additional suspects involved in the shooting remains undisclosed, authorities are determined to pursue all leads and ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families.
