Two more schools in West Lothian have reported confirmed cases of Covid-19 this week.
The Courier had previously reported on cases at eight schools this week but we can now reveal there have been two more.
The schools updated their websites with the news for parents and carers of children.
Balbardie Primary School in Bathgate recorded one confirmed case on March 22 and Inveralmond Community High School in Livingston reported a number of cases on March 25.
A spokesperson for Inveralmond Community High School said: “Over the past week there has been a small number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the Inveralmond School community.
“Everyone who has been in direct contact with the confirmed cases has been contacted and will be staying at home for 10 days.
“If your child has not been contacted and remains well, you should continue to follow the school’s existing arrangements for your child and their planned attendance at school. The school remains open with arrangements as per current Scottish Government guidelines.
The headteacher at Balbardie Primary School, Margaret Johns, said: “We are aware of a person within Balbardie Primary School who has tested positive for COVID-19. We are working closely with NHS Lothian Health Protection Team and following all national guidance.
“Anyone that may have been in close and sustained contact with the case will be contacted directly and will need to self-isolate.
“They will be given appropriate guidance and advice.
“If you are not contacted directly to inform you that your child is a close contact your child should attend school as normal.”
The eight other schools with confirmed cases recently are: Bankton Primary, Howden St Andrew’s Primary, Livingston Village Primary School, Peel Primary School, Riverside Primary School, St Ninian’s Primary, Toronto Primary School and Williamston Primary School.
Pupils at Peel Primary returned to home learning this week after the school was shut for a short period due to the outbreak.
