Two more people in the UK die from coronavirus

A further two people in the UK have died from coronavirus, raising the total number of deaths to 10.

The Press Association says NHS England has confirmed the deaths.

The news comes as the total number of people to test positive for the virus has risen by more than 100 in the past 24 hours.

A total of 590 people have been confirmed, up from 456 people at the same point on Wednesday, according to the Department of Health.

The Prime Minister is this afternoon (March 12) holding an emergency meeting of the Cobra meeting.

It's believed the Government will move the UK into the delay phase of it's four-part Coronavirus Action Plan.

This is likely to include social distancing strategies, including banning large public gatherings and encouraging the country's workforce to work from home.

To date, more than 29,000 people have been tested for the virus across the United Kingdom.
