Two more men charged over murder of Kelvin Grove man

Robert Charles Frescon was found dead at Kelvin Grove on Friday.

Two more men have been charged with the murder of 33-year-old Robert Charles Frescon who was found dead at his home in Brisbane's inner north.

Mr Frescon was found by his sister at his house in Hunter Street, Kelvin Grove on Friday afternoon.

Police said Mr Frescon died from a wound to his neck.

Thomas Appleby, 21, was charged with murder on Sunday afternoon.

Detectives said that Mr Appleby and Mr Frescon were known to each other.

Two other men — Nicholas James Torralba, 29, and 23-year-old Damian Markovski from Broadbeach were also charged with murder overnight.

This morning the three men briefly appeared before a Brisbane court.

The men were not able to apply for bail in the Magistrates Court and their cases were adjourned until next month.

Outside court, Mr Appleby's lawyer indicated he would be defending the charge.

Residents asked to 'check their bins' for evidence

Police are also asking residents in Kelvin Grove and Herston to look for discarded clothing, including a distinctive red, black and white Ralph Lauren shirt, footwear and a mask or balaclava.

Detective Acting Inspector Chris Toohey said officers had scoured the two suburbs today, locating a number of items of clothing believed to be from the scene of the murder.

"Police are aware that rubbish bin collection occurs tomorrow in these suburbs and appeal for everyone to check their bins and their yards when putting their bins out tonight," he said.

"If they [residents] identify any items in their bin that they think suspicious, or not their own, to contact police.

"We've had SES and police today walking through streets in Kelvin Grove and Herston and we have had success from finding evidence in relation to this matter.

"We've had the post-mortem and we are seeking a weapon."
