Two more coronavirus deaths confirmed at Sherwood Forest Hospitals

Two further patients being treated for coronavirus in Nottinghamshire hospitals have died, Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust has confirmed.

The trust announced on Friday, April 3, 25 patients, up from 23 the day before, have now died after testing positive for Covid-19.

King's Mill Hospital, Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital are all operated within the Trust.

It comes after Nottingham University Hospitals confirmed five patients - including a 27-year-old with no underlying health conditions - had died on April 1 after testing positive.

Richard Mitchell, Chief Executive at Sherwood Forest Hospitals said: "Sherwood Forest Hospitals is currently treating patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus).

"Sadly, we can confirm that 25 patients being cared for at our hospitals, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of those patients at this very difficult and distressing time."
