Two Merseyside hotels to become stores for elderly and NHS staff

Two Merseyside hotels are set to transform into temporary stores for NHS staff, OAPs, and other vulnerable during the coronavirus outbreak.

Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group hotels The Bold Hotel in Southport and the Eccleston Arms in St Helens will be converted into temporary stores as soon as tomorrow.

The announcement came over Twitter, in a post from The Bold Hotel which read: “Andrew Mikhail has confirmed that both ourselves and our sister hotel, @EcclestonArms in St Helens near Whiston Hospital will be converting the hotels and setting up temporary shopping stores to be used by NHS, OAPs and vulnerable people ONLY!

“Should be ready to start tomorrow.”

In another Twitter thread, the Southport hotel confirmed it would “continue to stay open for as long as it is possible”, while also working to support others.

The thread read: “We would like to support the communities that have supported us over the years, we will be doing this by:⠀

“1. Offering our function room as a shop for NHS heroes, OAPs and the vulnerable.⠀

“2. Offering a takeaway food service, no need to miss your Bold favourites (Further details to come)

“3. Our hotel rooms will continue to remain available.

“A huge thanks goes out to our Mikhail Hotel Family working hard to get this underway.”
