Two Merseyrail staff attacked at Central Station

Police are investigating an assault which happened at Central Station when a drunk passenger was prevented from travelling.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said that a man was refused travel by rail staff due to his levels of intoxication, but he then became abusive and then struck both members of staff.

Thankfully they did not receive serious injuries.

The assault happened at around 7.40pm on Sunday, May 26.



Officers believe the man shown in this image may have information which could help them investigate.
