May 28--Police are looking for two men who tried to lure a child Wednesday afternoon in the Palmer Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
A male juvenile was in the 2800 block of West Belden Avenue when two males in a white Chevrolet pickup truck approached him around 3:30 p.m., according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.
The driver of the two-door truck asked the juvenile for help and said: "My mom is having a heart attack. Can you get in the back?"
The juvenile, whose exact age was not released, then told the two males that he was calling the police, at which time the truck fled eastbound then southbound on Milwaukee Avenue, according to the statement.
The truck had a yellow or orange light on its roof and is possibly a construction vehicle, according to police.
The driver of the truck is described as a white man who is between 30 and 35 years old. He has tan skin and was clean-shaven. He also spoke with an accent, which was possibly Polish, according to the statement.
The passenger in the car is described as a white Hispanic man who had unkempt facial hair. He was wearing a white or gray T-shirt, according to police.
Anyone with information about the two suspects or their vehicle should call Area North detectives at 312-744-8200.
