Two men thrown from scrambler bike remain in hospital

Two men remain in hospital today after they were thrown from a scrambler bike in a crash with a car.

Emergency services rushed to the junction of Marlborough Road and Myers Road West, at about 5.30pm, to reports of a crash between a Volskwafen Golf and an off-road bike.

The force said two men were injured during the crash, in Crosby, and both suffered serious injuries.

Their ages are not known at this stage, but police said one of the men suffered a serious head injury while the other sustained an injury to their leg.

It was confirmed today the two men are still in hospital. Their conditions were described as "serious, but stable".

Photos from the scene showed road closures as officers taped off the street. Multiple police officers were also seen as they carried out enquiries.

The driver of the car involved in the crash stopped to help the police.

In a statement last night, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 5.25pm, officers and the ambulance service were called to the junction of Marlborough Road and Myers Road West to reports of collision between a VW Golf and a scrambler bike.

"Two males from the bike have been taken to hospital for assessment of injuries, one for a head injury and the second a leg injury.

"The driver of the car stopped at the scene to assist with enquiries."
