Two people were arrested after a fight broke out in a West End pub.
At least nine police vehicles raced to The Denton on Sunday night and witnesses claimed a stool had been thrown.
Witnesses described a man, covered in blood, being put into the back of a police van and on Monday morning shattered glass and blood were still outside the pub as detectives continued to investigate.

"Shortly after 8.30pm on Sunday police received a report of a fight outside the Denton pub on West Road, Newcastle," said a Northumbria Police spokesperson.
"Officers attended and found a group of people causing a disturbance outside.
"Two men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during the incident.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and two men were also arrested by officers at the scene and have since been reported for public order offences."
It is understood the victims suffered facial injuries.
ChronicleLive contacted the Westgate Road venue but staff did not comment on the incident, Operator Ember Inns has not responded to a request for comment.
