Two men spotted 'carrying hammers designed to cause fear'

Police want to speak to two men spotted carrying hammers through the streets of Dunston.

Officers investigating an affray have released these CCTV stills in a bid to trace them.

Shortly after 4.30pm on March 13, police received a report that two men were walking down Wellington Road, in Dunston, carrying hammers.

While it is not believed the hammers were used, it is claimed the men acted in a manner likely to cause fear or violence.

Enquiries are ongoing, and police have now released images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

They were known to have been in the area at the time and could have information that could assist with the investigation.

The men, or anyone who knows them, is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 760 130319 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
